1. DEFINITIONS
"Lessee" means the natural or legal person who rents the vehicle or in whose name the vehicle is rented. The lessee is responsible for compliance with all the present General Rental Terms and Conditions.
"Contract" means the private rental agreement signed upon vehicle pick-up at the start of the rental period, authorizing vehicle use, specifying pick-up and return location, insurance coverage, equipment and services included in the price, and payment method. The contract also includes information on mileage, fuel level, and any damage or defects to the rented vehicle, as well as other rights and obligations of the parties, who, by signing the contract, fully accept its terms. The vehicle condition report and the general rental terms are considered part of the rental agreement.
"Driver/additional driver" means the natural person indicated in the rental contract as the "user" who signs the contract, receives the vehicle, and is also responsible for complying with all its provisions.
"User" refers collectively to the lessee, driver, and additional driver, and will henceforth be referred to as "user" in the general rental terms.
"Vehicle" means the object of the contract, the details of which are included therein.
1.Driver’s License Requirements
When collecting your vehicle, the main driver and all additional drivers must present a valid driving license in their name.
-
Digital driving licenses are not accepted.
-
If your license has been recently renewed and only shows the renewal date, you must provide proof of the original issue date.
-
All drivers must have held their license for at least 12 months.
-
It is each driver's responsibility to ensure they have the correct documentation for driving in another country. For example, you may need a visa and/or an International Driving Permit (IDP) in addition to your national license.
The rental company may accept a National Driving License without an IDP if it is issued from one of the following countries:
Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and Switzerland.
The rental company may also accept a National Driving License in Latin alphabet from the following countries:
Albania, Armenia, Australia, Azerbaijan, Bahamas, Bahrain, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Brazil, Canada, Central African Republic, Chile, Congo, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, North Macedonia, Georgia, Ghana, Guyana, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Ivory Coast, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Liberia, Mexico, Moldova, Monaco, Mongolia, Montenegro, Morocco, Nigeria, Northern Ireland, Norway, Pakistan, Peru, Philippines, Qatar, Russia, San Marino, Saudi Arabia, Senegal, Serbia, Seychelles, South Africa, South Korea, Tajikistan, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay, Uzbekistan, Venezuela, Vietnam, and Zimbabwe.
Customers from countries not listed above, or those holding licenses not written in the Latin alphabet, are required to present an International Driving Permit (IDP) or an official translation of their licence.
Drivers aged to 21-24 are subjected to a young driver fee surcharge of 10 euros per day.
Drivers aged to 25-75 are not subjected to any age related fee.
Vehicle deliveries to locations further than 5km distance of the airport apply a deliver cost of 25 euros, which the customer is obligated to pay upon receiving the rental vehicle.
2. RENTAL TERMS
By signing the contract, the user confirms that the vehicle is received in suitable condition for its intended use, complete with all related equipment and accompanying documents. A driver receiving the vehicle and signing on behalf of a legal entity confirms he/she has the required authority and guarantees joint liability with the legal entity for fulfilling all contractual obligations.
By signing the contract, the user guarantees that they meet all legal requirements for minimum driving age and possess all necessary documents in accordance with Greek regulations. These original documents must be presented to the lessor, and copies will remain with MYKORENT as an annex to the contract.
The user is liable for any traffic violations committed during the rental period, including after its expiry.
3. PAYMENT TERMS
The user must authorize a pre-approval on their credit card, securing an amount determined by the lessor based on the vehicle category, rental duration, insurance, etc.
Upon signing, the user authorizes the lessor to charge the agreed daily rental rate, additional daily charges (insurance, equipment, services), and any other costs incurred per the current price list.
These costs will be charged to the pre-approved credit/debit card or settled using another agreed method. The lessor may collect due amounts during or after the rental if outstanding charges are identified. If the user pays directly into the lessor’s account, payment must be made within the prescribed deadline. In case of delay, interest and additional charges apply.
4. USER OBLIGATIONS
By signing the contract, the user acknowledges and agrees to the following obligations:
-
Return the vehicle at the agreed location and time, in the same condition, with all equipment and the same fuel level as at delivery. Early return may be requested by the lessor.
-
Request in writing any rental extension or changes before the end of the rental period. Otherwise, the vehicle may be declared missing.
-
Not use the vehicle to transport heavy loads, train drivers, tow, carry passengers for a fee, participate in races, conduct endurance or speed tests, or engage in illegal activities.
-
Use the vehicle only by drivers listed in the contract for personal use; it must not be assigned to unauthorized persons.
-
Handle and use the vehicle properly.
-
Lock the vehicle, close windows, and take the keys and documents when exiting.
-
Drive only on public roads, sober and drug-free, and comply with traffic laws.
-
Regularly check the vehicle’s mechanical condition, including fluids and tire pressure.
-
Notify the lessor and make the vehicle available for service if any warning appears or servicing is required.
-
-
Avoid exceeding passenger/cargo limits, modifying the vehicle, or using it outside Greece without prior declaration. Cross-border use may incur additional charges, and insurance coverage ceases upon unauthorized cross-border travel.
-
Bear all operating costs, such as fuel, tolls, parking, and fines.
The lessor may charge the user for all fines, traffic violations, and associated administrative costs without prior notice. Charges will be made to the card listed on the contract’s first page.
If the user is a legal entity, it may assign the vehicle to an employee with the lessor’s prior written approval, provided the driver meets the contract's conditions. The entity remains liable for compliance with the contract.
5. Office Hours & Out-of-Hours Service
-
-
Our office operates daily from 09:00 to 21:00.
For vehicle pick-up or drop-off outside these hours, an additional charge of €25 applies as an out-of-hours service fee.
Please inform us in advance if you require service outside standard office hours so we can arrange everything accordingly. -
6. DAMAGE AND LOSS OF DOCUMENTS
In case of vehicle damage, or loss of equipment, tools, documents, license plates, or keys, the user is liable for related costs. The user is responsible for:
-
Engine/mechanical damage (e.g., due to lack of oil or coolant),
-
Damage to the oil pan, clutch (e.g., burnt smell from friction),
-
Vehicle body damage,
-
Loss/damage to documents or keys,
-
License plate loss/damage,
-
Interior damage, burnt seats,
-
Incorrect fuel usage,
-
Any other damage due to negligence or improper use.
The user must compensate the lessor for the full repair cost, plus lost daily rent (up to 30 days max), towing, and any depreciation caused by the damage.
The user agrees to follow the manufacturer’s instructions and use the correct type of fuel (unleaded or diesel). Damages due to non-compliance are not covered by insurance.
7. THEFT, ACCIDENT, AND/OR VEHICLE DAMAGE
In the event of an accident, damage, theft, mechanical failure, or similar incident, the user must:
-
Prevent further damage to the vehicle until returned to the lessor,
-
Record names and addresses of involved parties and witnesses,
-
Inform the police and obtain an accident/damage report (except in case of engine failure),
-
Report the incident to the nearest lessor office.
Police reporting is mandatory for any damage. If the user fails to obtain a police report, complete the accident/theft declaration, or refuses an alcohol test, they are liable for the full damage cost.
8. INSURANCE
The rental fee includes basic insurance coverage for third-party liability (excluding the driver). The lessor provides this insurance under the terms of the insurance contract, which the user accepts by signing the rental agreement.
If the user accepts and pays for one of the additional insurance packages offered by the lessor, they must also comply with their terms. These include obligations such as not exceeding speed limits, not using the vehicle outside public roads, and not assigning it to unauthorized drivers. Failure to comply voids the insurance coverage, and the user becomes fully liable.

Inform the police and file a report,
-
Notify the lessor and provide a copy of the police report,

10. VEHICLE RETURN – CHARGES
The user must return the vehicle at the agreed location and time. Otherwise:
-
Delays beyond 30 minutes incur a full extra rental day charge,
-
Returning the vehicle to a different location than agreed will incur extra transport charges as per the official price list.
The vehicle is considered returned only when physically received by a lessor representative and after a full inspection and signing of the return form. Until then, the user is fully responsible.
If the user returns the vehicle outside office hours or to an unstaffed location (e.g., hotel, port), they remain responsible for the vehicle until it is inspected and formally received.
If the user returns the vehicle earlier than the agreed date, no refund or compensation is provided.

-
The user breaches any of the terms (e.g., unauthorized use, late return, unpaid charges),
-
The vehicle is used illegally or negligently.
Upon termination, the user must return the vehicle immediately. If they refuse or delay, the lessor may take legal and/or administrative action, including reporting the vehicle as stolen.
The user waives any right to object to early termination and accepts all consequences and charges arising from such action.
